The Heath Smart Virginia SOL resource home page, as an official Virginia Department of Education Web site, abides by the Acceptable Use Policy (AUP) for Virginia computing resources which dictates the responsibilities of Virginia SOL resource Web developers.
This site is built using accepted Web standards: tableless XHTML 1.0 Transitional, Cascading Style Sheets (CSS) 2.1. healthsmartva.pwnet.org meets all guidelines set forth by the Web Accessibility Initiative of the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) and conforms to all standards in Section 508 (29 U.S.C. ' 794d) of the Rehabilitation Act.
The adherence to Web standards has produced a site that is accessible to all members of the Heath Smart Virginia SOL resource community and loads 50-500% faster (depending upon connection speed) than table-based layouts.
