Understanding the Standard


The student will understand the benefits of resolving conflicts peacefully.

 

Essential Knowledge and Skills

The student will:

  • define a conflict. (a disagreement)
  • describe the wrong way to settle a conflict. (a physical or verbal fight)
  • identify the right way to settle a conflict:
  • use self-control – do not fight;
  • agree to listen to each other and talk things out;
  • try to agree to a solution and then try it;
  • walk away if the other person still wants to fight; and
  • ask an adult for help.
